In the summer of 1892 a nononsense story was thought up by a man by the name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, or as we know him today by his pseudonym, Lewis Carroll. He invented the story on a boat trip to appease the bordom of three sisters, one whose name was Alice. For the next two years he wrote and rewrote his tale until 1864 when he presented the manuscript to Alice as a Christmas present. After a few more revisions and added illustrations by [Sir John Tenniel] the book was published on 4 July 1865, exactly 3 years after the famous boat trip. Today the story still stands tall in the minds and imaginations of all alike.
