30 Lbs of Marijuana Seized From 62 Year-Old Woman [News]

Not the old woman; Just Willie Nelson.

[Clarion Ledger] A 62-year-old woman found Wednesday with 30 pounds of marijuana at her Jackson home told authorities it was for medical use.

But Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin said he is not buying Millie Steverson’s claim.

“I understand she smokes the drugs to help her glaucoma. By the time she got through smoking all of that, she would have X-ray vision,” McMillin joked.

Steverson was arrested at 2665 Milo Ave. following a Sheriff’s Department investigation prompted by a tip, McMillin said.

Deputies seized the marijuana along with crack cocaine, ecstasy pills and a handgun inside the home and a stolen 2008 Lexus from the back yard. The drugs have a street value of about $200,000.

McMillin said other drug paraphernalia inside would suggest Steverson was trafficking the drugs including a scale.

To which McMillin added; “There will be no running of marijuana through Spurbury on my watch. You can count on it.”

  1. The stigma attached to marijuana scares many people who use medical marijuana. The main problem inhibiting legalization is that people who smoke a glass pipe are discriminated against and are not considered serious or mature. The public needs to make its choices known and make sure our voices are heard. With the economy in shambles trouble and democrats in office it is the best chance to change the laws. Send a letter, send an email make a phone call, one hand written Letter is considered to be the voice of thousands of people who did not take the time.
