The election year is heating up along with the weather. Mitt Romney was in Portsmouth, NH, a couple days ago blasting Obama for diverting attention away from the economy and not caring about the poor and middle class.
“Over these last several days, we have seen this president go across the country and bring up all sorts of extraneous items,” he said. “Everything he can do to distract from the issue that people care about, which is a stronger economy, creating more enterprises, creating good jobs, and raising incomes.”
“We’re seeing a greater and greater gap between those that have the most and those that have the least. The President is focused on taking away from those that have the least. I want to help everybody. Particularly those that are being left behind. I want to help the poor. I want to help the middle class get the kinds of jobs that raise their incomes.”
Never mind the fact that Romney said that he’s “not concerned about the very poor”, or that he hides millions in the Cayman Islands to avoid U.S. tax laws, and will not release his tax returns for 2012 until three weeks before the November election. Never mind the fact that, under a Romney plan, more money will go to the wealthy while others pay more, but under a Buffet Rule those making over a million dollars would have to fork out just a little bit more.
I may not agree with everything that Obama does, but I can tell you that Mitt Romney does not stand for me, the Middle Class.
