Among the 250 enrolled at a tiny private school in California known as Brethren Christian High School, a 7-foot-5, 310 pound, 18-year-old giant lurks the halls. More importantly, he lurks the basketball courts.
A native of Senegal, Mamadou Ndiaye wears size 19½ lime green Nike Zoom Kobe VI shoes. At 89 inches, he stands two inches taller than anyone currently toiling in the NBA. He averages 22.9 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game for the Warriors. Not only are college scouts interested in him, but so are Guinness Book of World Records and Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
“Right now his game is basically catch, turn, drop-step, dunk,” says Brethren Christian’s coach, Jon Bahnsen, whose own college coach was a 7-footer from a foreign country, former NBA center Swen Nater of the Netherlands. “But this kid’s going to play professionally someday. The minute Mamadou enrolled I became a much better basketball coach.” – FoxSports
At this point, I don’t think that Ndiaye has much going for him except for the fact that he towers over his opponents and everyone else as if they were toddlers. Sure he can get under the basket and make the shot with ease, but he obviously can’t dribble as you can see in this video. Notice how he just passes the ball off.
